Your Business Has Been Making Honey for Years. Time to Sell the Harvest.
Every email, quote, ticket and drawing your team creates is something AI companies may pay for. A quick discovery call shows if your business qualifies. Then we take your opportunity to market, to buyers actively looking for data like yours.
Some AI Buyers Are Paying for Business Records.
In October 2026, one AI data company, micro1, announced a commitment to spend $1 billion over 12 months licensing company operational data (Business Wire, Oct 9, 2026). Announced budgets aren't offers. Whether your records qualify, and what a buyer would pay, depends on your data and your rights.
- Quick DiscoveryA short call tells you whether you qualify. No cost, no guesswork.
- Multiple Offers. You Pick the Winner.Going to one AI company alone means taking their price. We work to bring you multiple offers.
What's in It for You
A possible new revenue source from records you already have, with nothing up front and a team working to bring you multiple offers.
- Team Size: 30+ people at a computer is the minimum we look for, not a guarantee. More people working in software may mean more valuable records.
- Years of History: 3+ years of digital records is the minimum we look for, not a guarantee. The longer you have been in business, the more data you have and the more valuable it may be.
- Rare Data: CAD drawings, engineering files, drone footage (where properly authorized) and detailed customer records tend to be in highest demand.
- Repeat Payments: some buyers pay again for renewals or fresh data.
- No Retainers or Setup Fees. Discovery and valuation cost you nothing.
- Paid When You Are. Our fee is a percentage of the offer we secure for you. Once you receive payment from the buyer, you pay us.
- Full Transparency. We act for you, the seller, not for buyers, and we show you every offer. You make the decision on what you want to accept.
- Simple to Start. Nothing up front. Sign an agreement to work with us, review the offers we bring you, and decide what to accept.
- Multiple Offers. We work to bring you multiple offers.
- Written Offers Only. Compare real numbers, not promises.
- You Set the Terms. Choose scope, date ranges and what stays out.
- Your Call. You decide which deal best fits you and your company.
Sell Your Honey, Not the Hive.
License it. Keep it. Get paid. A data license gives an AI company permission to learn from selected records for a set purpose. You don't sell your company, your customer list or your systems, and you keep operating exactly as you do today.
What a License Is Not
- Selling your company or any part of it
- Handing over your customer list
- Giving anyone ongoing access to your systems
- Permission to resell or publish your records
What a License Is
- Permission to use selected records to train and test AI
- You pick the systems, teams and date ranges
- De-identified by the buyer where required
- License once. Earn again, when buyers pay for renewals or updated data.
De-Identified by the Buyer, Where Required
HiveWorks doesn't receive, hold, store or clean your data. If you license it, it goes directly from you to a buyer you approve, under a signed license. The buyer is responsible for de-identifying it where required. No method can guarantee a person can't be identified.
The Internet's Been Mined Out. Your Business Is Untapped.
AI companies have already learned from nearly everything posted online. What they can't find anywhere else is how real businesses actually get work done.
Your Records Show Real Decisions
A quote that became a job. A ticket that got solved. A drawing revised three times. That's the experience AI needs to be useful at work.
- Email threads and chat show how your team decides
- Customer records and support tickets show how problems get solved
- Quotes, drawings and how-to manuals show how the work gets done
Size Isn't Everything
Specialized history is. A focused 40 person firm with years of detailed records can be worth more than a big company with generic data.
- Niche industries are scarce, so buyers pay more
- Depth beats volume: years of detail win
- Closed businesses qualify if the records still exist
Only Buyers You Approve
Your data goes directly from you to buyers you approve, and only after you sign. Every license spells out exactly how it can be used.
- De-identified by the buyer where required
- Use limited to AI training and testing
- You choose the buyers, so you can leave out anyone you want
No Data Team Needed. You Stay in Control.
HiveWorks values your data and runs the sale. The buyer handles pulling, cleaning and packaging the data after you sign. You approve every step in between.

Closed Your Doors? Your Data Didn't.
Selling, winding down, or already shut down, the years of email, files and records you built are still assets. AI companies are buying them from closed businesses right now (MIT Technology Review, Oct 13, 2026). That history may still be worth something.
Find Out What It's Worth- Your History Still CountsYears of real work don't lose value when the doors close.
- Move Before It DisappearsExport your data before software subscriptions lapse, or the history goes with them.
- A Cleaner Wind-DownTurn old systems into cash for owners, partners or creditors.
Questions Owners Ask
Is My Customer Information Safe?
HiveWorks doesn't receive or store your data. It goes directly from you to a buyer you approve. Buyers are responsible for de-identifying it where required, but no method guarantees removal. Review the license terms on use, resale and deletion with your attorney before you sign.
Who Cleans and Packages My Data?
The buyer does. Their specialists pull, package and de-identify (where required) the data under the license terms. HiveWorks doesn't clean, hold or store your data.
Who Will See My Data?
Only buyers you approve, and only after you sign. You decide which buyers to work with, so you can leave out anyone you don't want involved. The license limits use to AI training and testing and prohibits resale or publishing.
My Business Is Closed. Can I Still Do This?
Often, yes. If you still own the records and can export them, from email archives to CRM, project files and drawings, they can still be licensed. Move quickly, because data can be lost when software subscriptions end.
What Kind of Company Qualifies?
Generally 30+ people at a computer or in work software most of the day, 3+ years of digital records, and an owner or executive who can sign. These are the minimums we look for, not a guarantee that you will qualify or receive an offer. Healthcare, financial services and legal businesses can apply, but they go through a longer enhanced review that considers HIPAA, GLBA and attorney-client privilege issues. We can't promise an outcome. Franchises and mostly field based crews usually don't qualify.
What Data Is Most Valuable?
Company email, team chat like Slack or Teams, customer records, support tickets, phone and Zoom recordings, quotes and proposals, project tools, sales and order history, QuickBooks or other accounting, photos and videos, manuals and training docs, and CAD or design files, which buyers ask for most. All data must be properly authorized by the business.
How Much Will I Get Paid?
Illustration only, not a prediction or promise: companies with years of organized records might see offers from tens of thousands of dollars to well into six figures, and some buyers advertise more. Many companies won't qualify or receive an offer. Your real number comes from a written buyer offer. We never quote a number until a buyer puts an offer in writing. Some deals include repeat payments for renewals or updated data.
What Does It Cost Me?
Nothing upfront. Our fee is a percentage of the offer we secure for you. Once you receive payment from the buyer, you pay us. If a buyer ever pays HiveWorks a fee, we tell you in writing before you accept an offer.
Do I Have to Accept an Offer?
No. You review the full license, with your own attorney if you like, set the scope, and decide whether to sign or walk away.
